El Pueblo: Nuestros Derechos sin Fronteras

Our 2013 large grant of $25, 000 went to El Pueblo, Inc. for their Nuestros Derechos sin Fronteras (Our Rights Have No Borders) program. El Pueblo works to achieve positive social change for Latinos through building consciousness, capacity and community action.

Nuestros Derechos sin Fronteras is a grassroots peer education program providing comprehensive reproductive health workshops to teenage Latino girls and boys in Wake County. El Pueblo will use this grant to help train at least 10 youth leaders on age-appropriate, medically accurate sexual education. These leaders will in turn help educate others in the community about issues and healthy decision-making.

Request for Proposal Theme: Growing a Movement, which focused on grassroots programs that bring people together to create long-term systemic change in our community.
