In 2010, the Beehive Collective made two grants totaling more than $25,000 to the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle and Catholic Charities. Inter-Faith Food Shuttle is dedicated to ending hunger by recovering good food that would otherwise go to waste and getting it to those in need.

Inter-Faith Food Shuttles used the Beehive funds to help further their mission to educate people about nutrition and to fund  their Young Farmer Training Program, an urban farming project.

Request for Proposal Theme: Food access, education and sustainability. Food is an important and timely theme as it touches on many other issues: the environment, health, economics, and social justice to name a few. The 2010 grant cycle explored  what we can do as individuals and as a community to increase the safety, sustainability, and social equity of our food systems in Raleigh.
